General questions.

  • Residential interior & architecture photography (for industry & families), brand & company event photography, and environmental portraiture for creatives. I specialize in creating imagery that reflects the character and depth of your brand or space. My work blends a keen eye with a calm presence— allowing real moments and storied spaces to speak for themselves.

  • Based in Boulder, Colorado, I provide photography services throughout Boulder and the surrounding regions, including Golden, Estes Park, Fort Collins, Louisville and neighboring communities throughout Northern Colorado.

  • Most clients book 4-8 weeks in advance, though availability varies by season and project size. While advanced notice is ideal, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re in a pinch— I do my best to accommodate!

  • Please complete the form on the Connect page including a bit about the space, occasion, etc., you’d like to capture and any questions you might have. I’ll be in touch, typically within 48 hours, with availability and next steps! In the unlikely event you don’t hear from me, please email me directly at whitney@devotophoto.co

  • Once we connect and chat details, I’ll be able to provide a quote based on the needs for your shoot. A 50% deposit is due to book, and the remaining balance (and any expenses such as parking and/or travel, if applicable) is due upon image delivery.

  • If you need to reschedule and provide more than 48 hours’ notice, I’m happy to apply your deposit to the new shoot date.

    Rescheduling or canceling within 48 hours of the scheduled shoot will result in forfeiture of the 50% deposit. This includes situations where the location is inaccessible, not ready for photography, or if other services at the property interfere with the shoot as originally planned.

  • JPG files will be delivered via a secure, online gallery that allows you the option to download both high resolution and web quality.

  • Final deliverables are individually edited for color correction, contrast adjustments, tonal adjustments, color enhancements, exposure blends, perspective correction and the removal of small “distractions.” Additional editing requests may be made within seven days of gallery delivery for an hourly retouching/editing fee.

  • For commercial use, the licensing terms we’ll discuss include use of the photos in the normal course of your business for advertising, marketing or other promotional use, including use of the images on your website and social media platforms. My standard licensing agreement does not include third party use (editorial with permission), altering the images or large scale use, such as billboards.

  • All photos and rights relating to them, including copyright and ownership rights, remain my sole and exclusive property. The images will contain my copyright information. Removing and/or altering such information is prohibited.

  • You will have access to your secure, online image gallery for 3 months from the date of delivery. After the 3-month period, I can replace lost images for up to 6 months from the date of delivery for a replacement fee. After 6 months, I cannot guarantee image replacement.

  • Photo credit when sharing our images digitally or in print is so very appreciated, thank you! Please credit photography to Whitney DeVoto, and if sharing on social media, please tag my Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn or Pinterest account.

  • Yes! I retain the right to use the photos for my website, social media and marketing. If you need the images, or behind the scenes content, held from public release until a specific date, please let me know before the day of our shoot.

Interior & architecture photography questions.

  • I collaborate with residential interior designers, builders, fabricators and architects to document your projects and elevate your portfolio, distinguishing your work in a competitive market.

  • Yes! As a professional interior photographer, I’ve come to believe that photographing a family home is one of the most meaningful ways to honor memories and preserve the spaces that shaped us.   • This varies greatly depending on the size of your space and how we’re capturing it— for commercial/industry use or personal legacy. Please reach out so we can discuss your unique specifics, and I’ll be able to provide a timeframe and quote from there!

  • Absolutely! Please reach out to discuss large projects/multi-day shoots.

  • I do not. Locations must be photo-ready upon arrival for our shoot. We may collaboratively rearrange furniture or make slight decor adjustments during the shoot to create the best images. And while spaces tend to photograph better furnished/staged, it’s not required— I’m happy to photograph freshly renovated, empty spaces as well.

  • Rescheduling or canceling within 48 hours of the scheduled shoot will result in forfeiture of the 50% deposit. This includes situations where the location is inaccessible, not ready for photography, or if other services at the property interfere with the shoot as originally planned.

  • Unless you have a desire to closely collaborate on specifics throughout the shoot, you do not need to be present for the duration of the shoot. We can do a quick walkthrough to start, or discuss any specific shot requests prior to shoot day as well.

  • Your image gallery will be delivered within 4 weeks of our shoot. Interior and architecture photos are individually edited for color correction, contrast adjustments, tonal adjustments, color enhancements, exposure blends, perspective correction and the removal of small “distractions”. If you have a tighter deadline, please let me know and we can discuss prioritizing and expediting specific images for a rush delivery fee.

Brand & company event photography questions.

  • I photograph community workshops, corporate retreats, team off-sites, internal company events, multi-day business gatherings, academic functions, cultural/art receptions and more! Please reach out and let’s chat about your event.

  • Yes! In addition to covering events in Boulder, Golden, Fort Collins and neighboring Northern Colorado communities, I’m happy to travel for multi-day retreats— please reach out to discuss.

Environmental portraiture questions.

  • Environmental portraiture, or brand photography within your natural environment (workshop, studio, home, etc.), authentically captures the essence of you and your work and helps clients connect with you and your brand on a deeper, human level.

    My approach to environmental portraiture is unique in that I focus on capturing the heart and soul that goes into your trade— you in your flow state, doing what you do best— to create naturally expressive photos that reflect your work and personality.

  • Sessions can take place in your workshop, studio, office, home, garden or anywhere meaningful to you across Boulder, Golden, Estes Park, Fort Collins, Louisville and neighboring communities throughout Northern Colorado.

  • Environmental portrait sessions typically look like me hanging/photographing in your studio for an hour or two while you work— no posing or pressure. The timeframe can vary depending on the location, lighting and story you want to tell. We’ll discuss what’s best when booking!

  • Yes, my focus is on capturing authentic, candid interactions, and I will absolutely take posed group photos and individual portraits, if desired.

  • Event galleries are delivered within 2 weeks of the final day of the event. If needed, I also provide the option to receive a handful of previews within 48 hours for a rush delivery fee.

Whitney DeVoto Photography operates on the occupied territories of the Cheyenne, Ute and 48+ contemporary Indigenous Tribes and Nations who live and travel throughout Colorado. 3% of every shoot or image license is contributed to Spirit of the Sun— an Indigenous, women-led nonprofit serving Native/BIPOC communities in Colorado through a variety of youth programming, land stewardship and food access offerings. Spirit of the Sun’s mission is to work in partnership with Native American communities in urban areas and on reservations to boost the resilience of Native people, especially youth and young adults.
