Nestled in a Boulder, Colorado, canyon where their family history runs much deeper than the creek, the Silbaugh’s purchased a 1930s mining cabin and reached out to photograph their now renovated (by Melton Design Build) Colorado homestead.

Whitney DeVoto Photography operates on the occupied territories of the Cheyenne, Ute and 48+ contemporary Indigenous Tribes and Nations who live and travel throughout Colorado. 3% of every shoot or image license is contributed to Spirit of the Sun— an Indigenous, women-led nonprofit serving Native/BIPOC communities in Colorado through a variety of youth programming, land stewardship and food access offerings. Spirit of the Sun’s mission is to work in partnership with Native American communities in urban areas and on reservations to boost the resilience of Native people, especially youth and young adults.
